Honor Vets Flight About Us
Honor Vets Flight is a non-profit organization connected
with and using the 501c tax exempt status of the
McDowell County Veterans Council as a sponsorship to
provide the veterans of McDowell County with an
opportunity to visit the monuments and memorials in
Washington, D.C. for which they fought for in the various
wars against the United States.  We as sponsors are
volunteers and give our time and efforts to these
deserving veterans to assist them in this well honored
endeavor.   These trips to Washington are absolutely
free to all veterans.  The expenses are paid by donations
from Merchants from McDowell County.  These
donations are for the veterans use only.  All chaperons
and assistants pay their own expenses.  Depending on
how many scheduled veterans go on each flight
determine how much it will cost the assistants to
accompany them.  We normally try to have one assistant
for each three veterans.  

If you are a Merchant of a McDowell County, N.C.
business, we would like to ask and would very much
appreciate your donation, no matter how small, to
provide these veterans with the funding to go on these
trips.  All of your donations are tax deductible and you
will receive a receipt for your donation from the
McDowell County Veterans Council.  In addition, you will
receive free advertisements on this site and in the local
newspapers for your generous contributions and
donations.  We intend to make it possible for all
McDowell County veterans to make this trip whether
they are veterans from WWII, Korea, or Vietnam.
